Ceantar na n-Oileán: Home Page

Ceantar na nOileán is a group of islands situated between Kilkerrin Bay and Greatman's Bay, 56km west of Galway City. The main islands are Eanach Mheáin, Leitir Móir, Garumna and Leitir Mealláin. Access to the islands is by a chain of bridges and causeways which were built at the end of the last century. This beautiful, scenic area is part of the Connemara Gaeltacht and Irish is the spoken language. These islands lie off the main tourist trail and therefore are still unspoiled and relatively unexplored. Amongst their many attractions are clean beaches, scenic walks, peace and quiet and regardless of where you turn you are never far from the sea. Why not come and see for yourself.
